SourceHorse is an AI-powered browser extension that helps users analyze webpage content,
generate summaries, surface insights, and fact-check claims. This Privacy Policy explains
what information SourceHorse collects, how it is used, where it is stored, when it is shared,
and what choices users have.
Important: SourceHorse appears on webpages you visit and, when active, may automatically
read and process visible webpage content in order to generate page analysis, summaries, insights,
and fact-checking results. SourceHorse also allows highlighted-section analysis and user-triggered
actions inside the widget. SourceHorse does not sell personal information and is not intended to
collect browsing history for advertising purposes.
1. Information We Collect
Visible webpage content processed by the extension. When SourceHorse is active on a page, it may automatically read and process visible page text in order to generate an initial analysis or refresh analysis results. SourceHorse may also process text that you specifically highlight or otherwise submit for analysis.
Page metadata related to analysis. This may include the page URL, page title, the analysis mode you selected, and related request details needed to generate SourceHorse results.
Account and authentication information. If you sign in, SourceHorse collects your email address and authentication or session information needed to log you in and keep you signed in. SourceHorse uses passwordless magic-link authentication through Supabase. SourceHorse does not ask for, collect, or store a traditional account password.
Usage and subscription information. SourceHorse stores data needed to manage plan limits, remaining credits, top-ups, subscription status, and usage enforcement.
Local extension data. SourceHorse may store data locally in your browser, such as session information, recent analysis history stored on your device, widget state or position, hidden/minimized state, selected mode, usage counters, and other settings required for the extension to function.
Payment-related metadata. If you purchase a subscription or top-up, SourceHorse may process your email address, selected plan, internal billing identifiers, and related transaction metadata needed to initiate checkout and update your plan. SourceHorse does not receive or store your full payment card number.
Account information. If you sign in, SourceHorse collects your email address.
Authentication and session information. SourceHorse and its authentication provider process magic-link login data, authentication tokens, and session information needed to sign you in and maintain your account session. SourceHorse does not collect or store a traditional password.
2. Information We Do Not Intend to Collect
SourceHorse is not designed to collect or sell your full browsing history as a standalone product or advertising dataset.
SourceHorse is not intended to use webpage data for unrelated advertising, profiling, or data brokerage purposes.
SourceHorse does not intentionally collect payment card numbers; payment processing is handled by Stripe.
3. How We Use Information
To provide SourceHorse features, including automatic page analysis, summaries, insights, highlighted-section analysis, and fact-checking.
To authenticate users and maintain signed-in sessions.
To track usage limits, subscriptions, credits, and plan eligibility.
To process purchases, upgrades, renewals, and credit top-ups.
To maintain extension functionality, preferences, widget state, and local history features on your device.
To detect abuse, enforce plan limits, troubleshoot errors, and maintain service reliability and security.
4. When and How Webpage Content Is Processed
SourceHorse runs as a browser extension on webpages you visit. When the extension is active, it may automatically
read visible page text and related page metadata in order to generate an initial analysis or refresh analysis results.
SourceHorse may also process webpage text when you use specific features such as clicking Analyze, changing modes,
or highlighting a section for analysis.
To provide these features, SourceHorse may send relevant visible page text, page URL, selected mode, and related
request data to SourceHorse's backend so a response can be generated. SourceHorse does not claim ownership of the
webpage content it processes. That content is processed only to provide SourceHorse features and related service
operations, such as returning the response, enforcing usage limits, and maintaining service reliability.
5. Where Information Is Stored
Locally in your browser: SourceHorse may store session information, recent analysis history, settings, widget state, and usage counters using browser storage on your device.
In SourceHorse cloud infrastructure and service providers: account, usage, subscription, and related service data may be stored in SourceHorse backend systems and service providers used to operate the product.
Payment systems: payment and subscription records may be stored by Stripe as part of secure payment processing.
6. Authentication Information
SourceHorse supports passwordless login using email magic links. When you sign in, SourceHorse and its authentication provider may process your email address, temporary authentication tokens, and session data needed to verify your login and maintain your session.
SourceHorse does not collect, receive, or store a traditional password for your account.
7. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
SourceHorse shares information only as reasonably necessary to operate the service, complete requested transactions,
and provide the features described above. SourceHorse does not sell personal information.
Supabase: Used for authentication, passwordless magic-link login, session support, backend functions, and storage of account, usage, and subscription-related records.
Stripe: Used for payment processing, checkout, subscriptions, and related billing operations.
OpenAI: Used through SourceHorse’s backend to process webpage text, page metadata, and related request data needed to generate the analysis, summaries, fact-checks, and other AI responses you request or that SourceHorse generates while active.
These third-party services only receive the information needed to perform their respective functions for SourceHorse.
8. Retention
Local browser data: remains on your device until you clear it, uninstall the extension, sign out, or the browser manages storage automatically.
Account, usage, and subscription records: may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, enforce limits, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and maintain business records.
Processed webpage content: SourceHorse aims not to permanently store processed page text longer than necessary to provide the requested or automatic analysis result and operate the service, but temporary processing, transient logs, backups, and provider-side retention may still occur.
9. Security
SourceHorse uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information
against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure,
and SourceHorse cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Choices and Controls
You can stop using SourceHorse at any time by uninstalling the extension.
You can sign out of your account through the SourceHorse login/session flow.
You can clear local extension data through your browser's extension and site storage controls.
You can minimize or hide the widget, where supported by the extension, to limit or stop SourceHorse activity on pages until you reactivate it.

11. Chrome Web Store Limited Use Statement
To the extent SourceHorse accesses, collects, uses, or shares data from webpages or other user activity in Chrome,
SourceHorse uses that data only to provide or improve the user-facing features described in this policy and in the
Chrome Web Store listing, such as automatic webpage analysis, summaries, insights, highlighted-section analysis,
account access, payments, and usage enforcement. SourceHorse does not use this data to sell it, to build advertising
profiles, or for unrelated advertising purposes.
12. Children's Privacy
SourceHorse is not directed to children under 13, and SourceHorse does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
SourceHorse may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
